Jim Rosenberg is the communications officer for the CGAP Technology Program, based in Washington, D.C. at the World Bank. Jim rejoined the World Bank as a web consultant after a stint as a producer for the Bob Edwards Show at XM Satellite Radio in early 2007.

Prior to that, he was the Multimedia Editor for South Asia at the World Bank, with lead responsibility for nine websites for India and nearby countries. He traveled several times to conduct training seminars and other projects in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

From 2000 to 2004 Jim was a local radio reporter at NPR affiliate WAMU-FM. There, he covered business and technology. His beat took him all over the region – from the ‘dot bomb’ fallout of the technology sector to the workplace challenges facing lower-income residents. He was also the lead reporter for WAMU’s coverage of Sept. 11th, and its aftermath at the Pentagon. He contributed stories frequently to Marketplace.

Before joining WAMU, Jim was the radio producer for the Washington bureau of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. He worked on breaking news, as well as features for Australia’s public broadcaster.

Jim was born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. He left home for Los Angeles where he received his bachelor’s in English and Spanish with honors, cum laude from Loyola Marymount University. After school, the Rotary Foundation named him an ambassadorial scholar to the University of Seville, Spain for one year.

Jim returned to the U.S. to earn his master’s in Journalism from Columbia University in New York, where he was a research fellow for the Alfred I. duPont Center for Broadcast Journalism. He continues to be active as a school alumnus as a volunteer admissions test proctor and as a screener for the duPont awards. He has also been a volunteer English teacher at the Sacred Heart School in Washington, DC.
